Bold.org: My Continued Effort to Get the "Best Possible Deal" on my College Experience

Updated: Jul 14, 2021

Your scholarship will allow me to not worry about the money aspect of education and, instead, focus on using my gifts to inspire others, to lead with love, and to positively influence others.

Now that my brother is a tenth-grade transfer student bound for Saint Edward High School, it is essential that my family receives financial aid. My parents both went to Catholic schools and met on a retreat at John Carroll. They are both extremely determined in all they do and have been amazing examples for my brother and me.

Every time someone asks me what I will do when I grow up, I say “I love it all.” - because I do. I love taking AP and Honors classes because challenging myself helps me to be the best version of myself. Next year, I look forward to taking AP Literature and Composition, AP U.S. History, and AP Calculus BC. Having a scholarship will ensure that I can continue to learn more about myself, the world, and God.

One of my favorite projects I have done is my Girl Scout Gold Award project. I researched the impacts of social media at Magnificat High School. Please see the rest of my website for more details.

Another program I learned a lot from this year was the Look Up To Cleveland Leadership program. I was one of two girls from my school nominated and chosen for the program. We met students from other Cleveland schools, met local entrepreneurs, politicians, artists, and others. We even completed two projects for Cuyahoga Executive Armond Budish. We came up with a meaningful and effective way to poll our peers on how they see racism and its impacts in our community. My group chose to hold several video calls to discuss this important topic with other teens. Click here for more information.

The other project we did was a thorough study of a specific district in Cleveland. Working with adult experts, my group studied the Campus District/Superior Arts District of Cleveland (the one near Case Western and Cleveland State). We brainstormed ideas that could potentially improve the community; those ideas are now being presented to local county and city officials.

Finally, another project that I started this spring and am still in the process of doing is my Agape Experiment. Please see this link to view my procedure and process. This year, I will be a senior. I am totally looking forward to the removal of masks, but I am grateful every day for the effort my teachers and school staff made so that we could stay in-person all year round for the 2020-2021 school year. Despite being all in-person, I still had to learn some valuable skills, like time management and communication skills.

Thank you. Your scholarships mean so much to me and my family.
